photo (2)October is a time of transitional fashion – somewhere between late summer/early fall and the cooling temperatures of impeding winter. And for those of us moms-to-be who are in our fourth month of pregnancy, this may also be a time of transition – somewhere between our regular clothes (maybe the ones that were a little baggy) and maternity clothes. Many of us don’t look super pregnant yet so we are still trying to hide a growing figure that is more akin to looking like you had too many hot dogs at football tailgates. I did cave and buy a few staple maternity pieces but I also found a few great ‘citizen’ pieces that are perfect for this transition.

Urban Outfitters is one of my favorite stores, so I am grateful that their loose-fitting Bohemian-inspired pieces are still hanging nicely over my growing belly (and thighs). To break up all the baggy material on top, I think a long necklace always works well. In lieu of buying a larger size in my normal leggings, I figured I would buy a few pairs of maternity leggings that will grow with me. Destination Maternity is having a great deal, when you buy 2 or more A Pea in the Pod leggings, they are $29.00 each instead of the normal $38.00 each. Finally, fall means boots and who doesn’t feel good in a nice pair of black knee-high boots. Of course, I went with a low-heel boot because in short order I anticipate not wanting to trot around town in high heels.
