This time of year means lots of holiday gatherings, cocktail parties and seasonal events leaving a modern mommie with a limited budget and dwindling wardrobe options with a challenge: can I get away with buying only one maternity dress to wear to everything? Challenge accpeted.

dmcThis Isabella Oliver 3/4 Sleeve Maternity Dress at A Pea in the Pod is comfortable, versatile and relatively affordable at $159.00. I am not usually in to wearing curve-hugging clothing but this dress is so flattering and at this point, I’ve decided I might as well own my changing figure instead of attempting to hide it. Shown here with black pumps, it’s a great look for a cocktail party. Just last night I wore the dress to less formal holiday party with black tights and Stuart Weitzman’s The 5050 Boot. To a more formal event, I wore the dress with black tights and Jessica Simpson’s ‘Neesha’ Stiletto Booties. I kicked up the look a notch with a pair of Swarovski earrings but I also Presentation2love the idea of tossing on some strands of layered pearls (faux or real!) as a way to add some sophistication.

This is a dress that can go from day to night seamlessly and is easy to dress up or down. It definitely has my vote for the best little black maternity dress.
